StoryWalk

Discover picture book adventures as you walk through Hamilton and Lakeside Park by visiting the latest StoryWalks. StoryWalks encourage families to enjoy reading and the outdoors by posting a children’s book – a page at a time – at intervals along a path.

During the warm season, our StoryWalks get a new story each month. What’s happening in late April and early May?

StoryWalk at Hamilton Park

Lakeside Park

At Lakeside Park, start at the Deneveu Shelter to read two different books! In “I Was Born a Baby” by Meg Fleming, baby animals share what they are called and what they’ll grow into. But, surprise! Some VERY different species share the same names!

Then, in “Hats are Not for Cats” by Jacqueline Rayner, a very insistent dog wants a cat to understand that hats are strictly for dogs, while the cat is determined to prove him wrong.

Hamilton Park

Over at Hamilton Park, in “Sleepy Sheepy and the Sheepover” by Lucy Ruth Cummins, Sleepy Sheepy is excited for his first sleepover with Grammy and Grampy, but, as bedtime comes closer, he might miss home too much to fall asleep.
